Description

 

SUMMARY

Coordinates all daily activities related to production including but not limited to, scheduling, order processing, ticket generation, inventory, financial, purchasing, monitoring orders in the system, shipping documentation and interfacing between the Innovation Factory and other PGTI divisions. This skilled individual will maintain all documentation required to run the Innovation Factory as well as involvement in product selection and other areas as assigned. This position reports directly to the Manager – Innovation Factory.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

Actions

Product / Project Selection

  • Participates in review sessions with stakeholders and subject matter experts to evaluate requests or concepts for production.

Material orders

  • Issue orders for project-specific production requirements

Inventory (materials / supplies)

  • Monitor / maintain factory materials and supplies
  • Issue orders for inventory replenishment

Production Scheduling

  • Coordinate timelines for products and overall factory production availability

Build Tickets

  • Prepare documentation required to produce products to desired specifications, e.g., Color, Glass Type, Dimensions, Material Cut Lengths, Options, etc.

Billing Coordination

  • Release notifications to PGT Finance for customer billing

Delivery Coordination

  • Scheduling with transportation vendors for product pickup and customer delivery

Documentation Retention

  • Maintain records of all orders and products produced (e.g., customer orders, design drawings, BOMs, certifications, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • 5+ years experience with Excel, Word required
  • Experience with Frontier and / or Soft Tech V6 preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with all commonly used office equipment, printers, copiers, laminating, etc.

LANGUAGE / COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Strong mathematical skills

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to establish priorities, plan, document and monitor

Must be able to assess complex situations and make appropriate decisions

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel occasionally domestically, including CGI and WinDoor facilities.

Occasional: activity exists less than 1/3 of the time.

Frequent:  activity exists 1/3 and 2/3 of the time.
