SUMMARY

Establishes, implements and maintains quality assurance environment and procedures to enable successful release of developed or configured software applications used in the production of PGT products.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following:

Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.  Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.

Establish/maintain and facilitate processes and procedures to test software prior to release into the production environment by the PGT Software Services Department.  Use automated and manual testing methods such as integration testing, functional testing, load testing and regression testing where required.

Create, maintain, and execute test plans, scripts, and scenarios based on requirements/designs or existing software functionality.

Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines: Writes, revises, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to attain quality of software economically and efficiently.

Analyze anddocument defects detected during test execution in the company’s change management system.  Make recommendations to improve software applications, product configurations, and/or processes.

Collaborates with developers, vendors, internal/external customers, and UAT team to research and identify issues, share knowledge and perform test activities related to product configurations and software applications.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology or Business-related degree.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst and/or as a Business Analyst in software development or computer related field.
  • Strong computer skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other software development tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft BI Stack is a plus.
  • Experience in Manufacturing industry is a plus.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills is essential.
  • Relationship building is critical to the success of this position.  Must be able to maintain relationships with users with limited levels of expertise while simultaneously maintaining relationships with technical development staff.

Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone and Skype. 
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions in an air-conditioned office environment.
